About Hearty Humans
Sarah Hearty, founder of Hearty Humans, is a vibrant, expressive & natural public speaker with a passion for communications and teaching this art to others. Her dream of becoming a confident speaker turned into a burning desire when a moment passed in her late teens to publicly recognise the beauty of her two deceased grandparents at a family gathering. She wished she had been able to seize that moment with confidence.
On recognising the huge value of communications through achieving a Masters (2.1.) in Public Advocacy & Activism, and BA (hons. 1.1.) in Communications & PR, she grabs every opportunity to speak up. Simultaneously seeking to develop her own skills and encourage this growth in others.
To balance education with experience, Sarah has had lots of fun whilst undertaking many exciting public speaking engagements. A couple of notable examples are: acting as an on-stage interviewer for Shopify’s European Support Summit 2019; hosting JCI Galway’s Ten Outstanding Young Person Awards 2018; faciliating a Public Speaking & Youth Leadership course for TY students 2017; and being the lead host for the book launch of ‘A Reason To Love More: The Alzheimers’ Enigma’ with special guest, Irish broadcaster, journalist and rugby pundit George Hook in 2016.
Sarah takes great pride in her contribution to building a community of confident speakers. This pride extends to the her dedication and drive to continuously improve her own speaking. From 2014 to 2019 in Galway city she acted as a committee officer and vibrant, active member of the international public speaking and leadership club, Toastmasters. In 2018/19 she served as President, maintaining the highest club standard of President Distinguished and for her contribution in 2017/18, Sarah received an award of Toastmaster of the Year.
Since early 2020 she is co-founder and co-host of a podcast show called 'Partners in Positivity' which has over 70 podcast releases to date. The mission of the broadcast is to provide a space for the partners in positivity, Sarah and Aisling along with a range of guests to voice perspectives on positive mental health and to nourish listeners with positivity, humour and shared wisdom. Some of the guests featured on the podcast to date include: The Happy Pear, CEO of Kocoono - Emer Flannery, Artist - Finbar McHugh, Moonlight Scorpio and Dr Eric Pearl.
With a desire to reach out & serve a wider community to help more people practice carpe diem at crucial times, Sarah officially established Hearty Humans in 2020.
